Chowan University Athletics

W.G. “Pete” Hunter was an outstanding baseball player at Chowan and had a successful baseball coaching career in his native Perquimans County. Under his direction, the Perquimans High School Pirates established a dynasty by never suffering a losing season in 17 years.

Hunter was married to the late Elaine Sumner Hunter. Hunter has two daughters and together with his wife shares ten  grandchildren.
