Chowan University Athletics

Ted Rollins, a native of Selma, NC, attended Chowan from 1954-1956 and was a key performer for coach Herb Appenzeller's football program. He became the fifth member of the successful 1955 football team to be enshrined into the Chowan College Sports Hall of Fame.

Rollins retired in 1989 following a distinguished 32-year career with the North Carolina State Department of Public Instruction, where, after receiving his Doctorate of Education degree from NCSU in 1973, he served for 16 years as Assistant Director of the Division of Vocational Education. 

Rollins passed away in October of 2017.
