Chowan University Athletics

At Chowan College, Robert Alligood was known as an outstanding student-athlete as well as a born leader.  Alligood lettered in both football and baseball while at Chowan during the years 1952-54.

Alligood went on to work in the school systems and after serving as principal of Aurora, Ahoskie and J.H. Rose High Schools, Alligood now continues his more than 30 year love affair with education as a superintendent of Washington County Schools. 

Alligood passed away in November of 2021.
