Bryan Hill came to Chowan in the Fall of 1989 from Alexandria, Virginia after catching the eye of then- Head Men's Basketball Coach, Bob Burke. The Woodson High School graduate was a standout men's player and earned All-District, All-State (Virginia), and All-Metro Second Team in his senior scholastic season.
Bryan came to Chowan for one year and during that time help the 1989-90 Braves squad to a NJCAA Region X Championship appearance. The then-Braves finished up the 1989-90 season with a 25-7 overall record, an Eastern Region Championship, and runner up finish in the Region X Championship game. They climbed as high as 13th in the NJCAA National Rankings that season.
Bryan notched 10 points and 7 assists a game in his one season with the team. "Bryan was flexible and a competitor as he was asked to play several positions. He will always be remembered for his poise during a LAST SECOND SHOT before a stunned home crowd for a win in Allegheny, Maryland as the two best JUCO programs on the East Coast fought hard for a win," said Burke of Bryan's play.
After one season at Chowan. Bryan moved on to play basketball at Georgia Tech under Coach Bobby Cremins. He played from 1990-1993 at Georgia Tech and helped the team to a 1993 ACC Basketball Championship. He averaged 8 points a game while at Georgia Tech and led the team in 3-point field goal percentage in his senior year, hitting shots beyond the arch at a 47% clip.
Bryan went on to earn his B.S. in Management from Georgia Tech and his M.Ed. in Curriculum and Instruction from National-Louis University. Since graduating from Georgia Tech, Bryan has been working in education all around the Washington, D.C. Metro area. Currently Bryan is employed at Bryant Alternative School with Fairfax County Schools as a Special Education Teacher.
Bryan has coached basketball all over the D.C. metro area, posting a 114-31 record while coaching at Ballou High School. He most recently served as the Head Coach at T.C. Williams High School where he led the team to a 2015 District Runner-Up position. He was also named District Coach of the Year that same season. He has also posted coaching stints at St. Agnes, Paul VI High School, DuVal High School, Wilson High School, and at M.M. Washington High School, all in the metro area.
Bryan is married to Lakeisha Wilson Hill. Together they have three children, Noah, 17, Hannah, 4, and Raymond, 2. They reside in Alexandria, Virginia. Hill is a member of the Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, is a Prince Hall Mason, and a member of the Nobel of Karnak Temple 230 of the A.E.A.O.N.M.S.
