Ashley Bradford Triplett came to Chowan in the Fall of 2006 from nearby Chesapeake, Virginia as a highly touted scholastic women’s soccer player. The Hickory High School graduate grew up playing for one of the best development soccer programs on the east coast, Beach FC (Virginia Beach). The explosive striker was a two-time Southeastern District Player of the Year as well as All-Region and All-State (Virginia), which helped make her impact on the Chowan University women’s soccer program immediate.Â
Bradford Triplett was recruited by Hawks’ then-Head Coach Georgie Donnelly, who as a former striker herself, recognized her explosiveness as one of the top talents in the southeast region. Bradford Triplett scored 23 goals in 21 games as a freshman with a .581 shots on goal percentage. She also accounted for nine season assists for a total of 55 season points, all of which led the squad. She was named All-NCCSIA, All-Region, and was ranked as the #2 goal-scorer in all of NCAA D2 that same season.Â
Bradford Triplett missed her sophomore season due to injury but entered her junior season without missing a beat. She netted a team-high 12 goals and bolstered a .689 shots on goal percentage in 16 games played. Her senior season she scored a team-high 13 goals and posted a .627 shots on goal percentage. In total she scored 52 career goals, scored nine game-winning goals, and tallied 15 multiple goal games. She left Chowan as the most explosive offensive player in program history with records in goals scored in a game, goals scored in a season, points in a season, game-winning goals, and shots on goal percentage.Â
Bradford Triplett graduated with honors from Chowan with a degree in Marketing Management & Entrepreneurship. Over her career she was on both the Dean’s List and the President’s List. In 2009-2010, she represented Chowan as Miss Chowan University and received a scholarship to study abroad in the summer of 2010.Â
After graduating from Chowan in 2010, Bradford Triplett took a job with Microsoft, where she spent four years. Currently Bradford Triplett is employed with Optima Health in Sales, Marketing, and Network Management. She is still active on the soccer scene as both a player and a coach. She currently is a coach within the Beach FC program in Virginia Beach. She is currently the Captain of the HRSC Elite Women’s Pro Beach Soccer Team, where she helped them earn a bid to the National Pro Beach Tournament in December of this year.Â
