Chowan University Athletics

Jerry Lee Hawkins was a long-time Chowan baseball coach and faculty member. Hawkins Field, built in 1964-65, is the site of Chowan University’s intercollegiate baseball games and is named in his honor.

Hawkins also taught physical education classes and was a professor of psychology and sociology.
