Hall of Fame
Alton Lowe attended Chowan College from 1958-1960, and graduated in the spring of 1960. During his time on the mound for the Braves he earned the honor of being named the NJCAA All-American baseball pitcher in 1959.
After graduating from Chowan, Lowe signed a professional contract with the San Francisco Giants. He spent one season in the Giants organization, earning nine saves and posting an Earned Run Average of 1.87 with the Class A Pocatello, Idaho Club.
Alton now is the co-owner of Dixie Grocery in Henderson, North Carolina. Lowe resides in Raleigh, North Carolina with his wife, Yvonne.
