Harry W. Webster attended Chowan College from 1961-1962. Nicknamed “Sarge,” he was widely known as quite a leader on the football field. Webster helped then Head Coach Jim Garrison to two very successful seasons. In 1961 the Braves went 8-1 and in 1962 they went 5-1-3. Beyond his talent on the field, Harry Webster was a well-known name. While at Chowan, he was awarded the Silver Feather Award for his dedication to his studies, athletics, and the college community.
Webster studied business at Chowan and after graduation spent several years working in accounting for such companies as Megaw (GA), Omark (NC), and Globe Industries (NC). After that Webster settled down in Rocky Mount, North Carolina where he resides today with his wife, Sara, and their two daughters, Wendy and Sara.
