Chowan University Athletics

Bob Burke is well known as one of Chowan’s most prolific coaches. Burke is Chowan’s all-time winningest coach in Chowan’s basketball history.

Through his fifteen seasons as Head Coach of the Chowan Braves Basketball program he compiled an excellent 337-124 record. When Chowan was a junior college program, the Braves averaged twenty five wins a season thirteen years in a row. Coach Burke has led his programs to three NJCAA “Sweet 16” appearances, one of which was a fourth place showing in the National Championships. Bob Burke has developed players who have gone on to play basketball in the Atlantic Coast Conference, Big East, Southern Conference, and Colonial Athletic Association to name just a few.
