CAMP LEJEUNE, NC-The Chowan University men's golf team completed two rounds of play at the 46
th annual Marine Federal Credit Union Intercollegiate Men's Golf Championship at the Paradise Point Golf Course on Saturday. The Hawks are competing against 30 teams during the championship and currently sit in 7
th place.
Chowan shot a collective par 286 on the 6,110 yard Scarlet Course (par 70) in the first round on Friday, the Hawks completed round two on Saturday on the Gold Course with a 299 team score giving them a two-day total of 585.
At the top of the Standing is Methodist University who earned a two-day team total of 554.
Jordan Francis led the Hawks with a 68 in round one and 73 on day two while, teammate
Billy Britton followed closely with a 69 first round score and shot a 74 on Saturday.
Christian Fleetwood shot a 73 for the Hawks on Friday and 76 for his second round score.
Rich Edwards totaled 76 for his first round score and shot a 85 on day two.
Steven Rhinard also competed in the tournament for the Blue and White and shot a 76 shaving five strokes off his Friday score (81).
The Hawks earned them a spot in the championship round on the Gold Course on Sunday in which only the top 16 teams will compete.
