GOLDSBORO, N.C. – The Chowan University men's golf team opened play at The Trojan, hosted by the University of Mount Olive, with rounds one and two on Monday afternoon. The Hawks turned in a strong opening round to sit tied for third before finishing the day in eighth place overall, with Mika Buchholtz in a tie for 17th alongside Bryce Koehler to lead the way.

INSIDE THE CARDS
Mika Buchholtz and Bryce Koehler led the way for the Hawks, each finishing tied for 17th overall. Buchholtz improved in the second round, shaving two strokes off his opening score to card a 73, highlighted by six birdies on the day. Koehler followed closely behind with rounds of 74 and 74, having a consistent performance throughout both rounds posting four birdies in the first and three in the second to stay steady on the leaderboard.
Harry Jones finished 31st after posting rounds of 75 and 76. Jones heated up in the back nine of the first round recording four birdies and having one a piece in the second round.
Bjoern Holt sits at 37th overall after rounds of 75 and 78. Holt opened with a strong first round adding three birdies. Chance Lassiter and Adam Lankford each finished tied for 63rd. Lassiter recorded rounds of 81 and 80, improving in the second round with steady play and a birdie to highlight his day. Lankford posted rounds of 80 and 81, adding four birdies in the opening round and a final one in the second round to close out his performance on the day.
