Chowan Golf Wraps Up CIAA Southern Division Tournament with Competitive Team Results

SANFORD, N.C. –  The Chowan University men's golf team wrapped up play at the CIAA Southern Division Tournament, hosted by Fayetteville State University, on Tuesday afternoon. The Hawks' B Team made a strong move up the leaderboard, climbing two spots to finish sixth overall, while the A Team held steady to secure a fourth-place finish.

INSIDE THE CARDS 

Harry Jones led the way for the Hawks, finishing fourth overall after carding a 74 in the final round. The freshman put together an impressive showing, recording two birdies on the front nine before adding four more on the back.

Teddy Fee made a significant jump up the leaderboard, climbing 22 spots over the final round to finish tied for 28th after shooting a 75. Justin Peterson got off to a strong start with a birdie on the opening hole and went on to total three birdies on the front nine. Chance Lassiter delivered a solid round as well, shooting an 80 to finish in 20th place, highlighted by a birdie on the front nine.

Gabriel Ansley and Bryce Koehler each posted rounds of 81. Ansley secured a 14th-place finish overall, while Koehler, who recorded two birdies in the final round, finished tied for 28th.

Mika Buchholtz finished tied for 27th after shooting an 82, highlighted by two birdies on the back nine. Ruben Gamez Aranda posted an 83 to finish in 38th place, while Adam Lankford carded an 84 to place 23rd overall. Bjoern Holt rounded out the lineup with an 86, finishing in 51st place.

Chowan will travel to Mount Olive, N.C. to compete in The Trojan, hosted by the University of Mount Olive, on Monday, March 30 through Tuesday, March 31.
