PINEHURST, NC- The Chowan University men's golf team opened play at the Brown Golf Intercollegiate on Friday afternoon.  The Hawks stand in 12^th place in the 12 team-field.  Play concludes on Saturday at the Fox Fire Resort & Golf Course in Red Fox Blue Mountains.

Chowan posted a team score of 329 on Friday. Jordan Francis led the effort for the Blue and White.  Francis carded a 76 in the opening round and are in an five-way tie for 15^th. Billy Britton and Rich Edwards followed with an 82 on the afternoon.  Both are tied for 51^st place in the 89-player field. Steven Rhinard carded an 89 in the first round of play while Christian Fleetwood shot a 90 on Friday.

Dale Davis competed as an individual posting a 90 for the first round of play. 

Saint Thomas Aquinas leads the field after posting a team score of 287.  They hold a 14-stroke lead heading into the final day of play.
