MYRTLE BEACH, SC- The Chowan University men's golf team opened play at the Myrtle Beach Intercollegiate on Monday afternoon.  The Hawks stand in 16^th place in the 16 team-field.  Play concludes on Tuesday at the Lion's Paw Course in Sunset at Ocean Ridge Plantation.

Chowan posted a team score of 318 on Monday.   Billy Britton and Steven Rhinard led the effort for the Chowan Blue and White.  Both carded a 78 in the opening round and are in an eight-way tie for 64^th.  Christian Fleetwood and Jordan Francis followed with an 81 on the afternoon.  Both are tied for 81^st place in the 89-player field.  Rich Edwards carded an 82 in the first round of play while Dale Davis shot a 90 on Monday.

The Duke B-Team leads the field after posting a team score of 275.  They hold a 12-stroke lead heading into the final day of play.
