GREENSBORO, NC- The Chowan University men's golf team opened play at the O'Briant Jensen Memorial Tournament on Monday afternoon. The Hawks stand in 12
th place in the 15-team field after the first round of play. Chowan posted a team score of 309 on Monday.
Huntingdon College stands in first place after carding a team score of 277.
Steven Rhinard led the effort for the Hawks on Monday. He shot a 70 in the opening round and stands tied for fifth in the field.
Jordan Francis followed with a 76 on the day. He finished the first round tied for 36
th. Billy Britton carded a 78 for the Chowan Blue and White and is tied for 49
th individually.
Christian Fleetwood rounded out the scoring for the Hawks on Monday. Fleetwood carded an 85 for the Hawks and is tied for 75
th. Rich Edwards followed with an 88 for the Chowan and White. He looks to build on a 79
th place finish heading into the final day of play.
Tyler Pittman competed as an individual for Chowan. He shot an 89 in the first round.
Play resumes on Tuesday at Sedgefield Dye Course in Greensboro, North Carolina.
