GREENSBORO, NC- Chowan University baseball student-athletes Tyler Burden and John Hunter earned North Carolina Collegiate Sports Information Association (NCCSIA) All-State College Division Second Team Honors on Monday afternoon. 

Burden, an Aulander, North Carolina native, compiled a .346 batting average and led the Hawks with 53 hits in 153 at-bats this season.  He knocked in 20 RBI and swiped 11 stolen bases as a sophomore.  Burden earned Rawlings/ABCA Division II Atlantic All Region Second Team honors at the conclusion of the season and was also an All-CIAA selection.  

Hunter hit at a .301 clip this year with 32 RBI.  The Hertford, North Carolina native was named All-CIAA Second Team his senior year. 

Nominees were submitted by North Carolina sports information professionals and voted on by the NCCSIA members.

Founded in 2002, The North Carolina Collegiate Sports Information Association (NCCSIA) is comprised of sports information professionals from NCAA Division I, II, III, NAIA and independent institutions from the state of North Carolina. The purpose of the organization is to promote collegiate athletics at all schools. Membership is open to anyone affiliated with a college, university or conference located in North Carolina, and whose area of responsibility lies within sports information.

NCCSSIA selects all-state teams in the University (Division I) and College (Division II, III, NAIA) divisions for men's and women's basketball, men's and women's soccer, volleyball, softball and baseball.
