MURFREESBORO, NC- The Chowan University men's tennis team earned a hard fought 5-4 win over Lenoir-Rhyne on Sunday afternoon.  The win moves the Hawks to 7-5 on the season while the Bears drop to 4-10. 
 
Farid Hajizada/Ivan Doubograev earned the lone victory for Chowan in doubles play.  Robin Hochquertel/Hunter Pack topped Pedro Aiala/Danilo Galovic 8-3 and Matthew Ledford/John Christian Reid edged Sasha Kirsanov/Tristan Martin 9-8 (4). 
 
The Hawks recovered to grab four of the six singles matches en-route to the victory.  Hajizada, Aiala and Martin earned victories over their opponents.  With the match tied 4-4, Doubograev trumped Matthew Ledford 6-2, 6-1 to secure the win for Chowan. 
 
The Hawks return to action on March 19^th when they host Virginia State University in a CIAA match-up.  First serve is slated for 3:00pm.
