Box Score MURFREESBORO - The baseball team evened their CIAA record at 3-3 after beating Elizabeth City State University 9-4 this afternoon. The Hawks move to 10-13-1 overall after today's single game win. CU's Brandon Mack was 4-4 with three knocked in and two runs scored in the win. 

Chowan jumped on the Vikings early in the game after putting up four runs in their first at-bat. Those four runs gave Robert Weaver enough support to go work on the mound. Weaver picked up the win after throwing four innings, scattering five hits and striking out four Viking batters. Tyler Chelenza came in to help protect a 6-4 lead by the Hawks to pick up his second save of the year. Chowan went on to add three runs in the bottom of the 6th inning to take the game 9-4.

Along with Mack's 4-4 performance, Nate Stanton was 2-3 with a two runs knocked in. Justin Shockley also knocked in two runs on one hit. 

The Vikings fall to 6-8 overall and 3-5 in CIAA play. The Hawks will travel to Lincoln University on Thursday for a doubleheader before returning home to host Virginia Union University on Saturday at Hawkins Field.
