Baseball Splits with Indiana University-PA

Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 MURFREESBORO - The baseball team split a doubleheader with Indiana University-PA this afternoon. The Hawks dropped the first game 10-2 but bounced back to take the nightcap with a final score of 12-11. Chowan moves to 3-5-1 on the year after today's doubleheader split. 

The Hawks were held to just runs in the first game of the doubleheader with those coming not until their last at-bat in the seventh inning. Justin Bagbey hit a two run homer to account for both of Chowan's runs. He was the only player to get more than one hit after going 2-3 at the plate with two RBI. Ryan Bradshaw picked up the win on the mound after throwing the first two innings. He game up five runs and struck out one in the loss. 

Chowan bounced back to take the nightcap win 12-11 after scoring six runs over their final two at-bats. They opened the game with a four-run first inning. Andrew Hales picked up the win on the mound after his team gained the lead after he came in for relief. Hales tossed 2.2 innings, giving up five hits, and three runs. 

The Hawks pounded out 10 hits in the nightcap with Brandon Mack going 3-4 to lead the team. Justin Shockley was 1-3 with a three-run double and John Kellett was 2-5 from the lead off position. 

The Hawks will play host to IUP tomorrow afternoon in a 12:00pm doubleheader to wrap up the four-game series.
