HAMPTON, VA - The Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association has released its 2010 class of All-CIAA and All-CIAA Rookie Team selections as selected by the CIAA Volleyball Coaches Association. Karina Monroe leads this year's honorees our 2010 CIAA Player of the Year. The sophomore Hawk was also the 2009 Rookie of the Year. Monroe (Middle Hitter/Blocker), ranks at the top of the CIAA in hitting percentage, .311, second in blocks 96, .93avg (50 solo, 46 assisted) and eighth in kills with 277; .2.69 per/set.
Whitney Green tops the rookie corps as 2010 Rookie of the Year. Green, a freshman outside hitter from Elizabeth City State University ranks third in the CIAA in hitting percentage .298 and ninth in kills 225, 2.68avg.
The CIAA Player and Rookie of the Year and respective teams will be honored at the Volleyball Championship Banquet held at the Newport News Marriott at the City Center, Newport News, VA on Thursday, November 4, 2010; 12:30pm.
