Chowan Secures First Conference Win in Five-Set Battle

MURFREESBORO, N.C. – Chowan Volleyball came out on top in a five-set battle against Erskine College on Friday evening. This win gives the Hawks their first conference victory. In the fourth and fifth sets, the Hawks showed their resilience as they fought until the very last point to secure the match.

Chowan's record now stands at 2-8 overall and 1-1 in conference play while opponent Erskine College falls to 1-8 on the season and 0-2 in league play.

INSIDE THE BOXSCORES

Leading the way offensively was Rosa Lynn Collier, who posted a career-high 23 kills along with three blocks and five digs. Collier delivered four consecutive kills late in the fourth set to extend the match and push the Hawks into the deciding set. Freshman Brooke Hart recorded a career-high 25 assists while also contributing 17 digs and Alexandra Liggeri added 12 assists and five digs to balance the attack. Alyssa Thompson and Hanna Virts chipped in six kills apiece, with Alauna Wilson-Linn close behind at five.

Defensively, Diana Rodriguez anchored the back row with 29 digs and added nine assists, while Jadyn Brown contributed 11 digs to strengthen the Hawks coverage.
