MURFREESBORO, N.C. – The Chowan University volleyball team came up short in a conference matchup against Francis Marion on Wednesday evening. The Hawks gained momentum in the third set, but their push fell short as the Patriots maintained control down the stretch. With the result, Chowan moves to 2-10 overall and 1-3 in conference play, while Francis Marion improves to 5-6 on the season and remains unbeaten in league action at 4-0.

Rosa Lynn Collier led the Hawks offense with five kills, while Jy'Asha Cousins, Anna Holcombe, Makeda Edwards, and Hanna Virts each contributed four. Gabriella Figueroa added three kills, and Lyniah Lee finished with two. Setter Alexandra Liggeri paced the offense with a team-high 12 assists, and Brooke Hart added seven to support the attack.
Diana Rodriguez led the defensive effort with 19 digs. Holcombe followed with eight, while both Jadyn Brown and Liggeri recorded five apiece. Cousins added to the defensive efforts with four digs of her own and three big time blocks.
