WINCHESTER, VA - The Braves moved to 23-11, 6-5 in the Dixie, after splitting a double-header with Shenandoah on Wednesday afternoon. The Hornets used a bottom of the 9th, two run, comeback to get the 3-2 win over the Braves.
Eric Lloyd started the game, pitching 3 innings before being relieved by
Travis Mister. Lloyd gave up 3 hits and struck out 6 in the game. Mister got the loss after pitching 5 innings and giving up 10 hits and 3 runs, 2 of which were earned.
Kenny Bragg was 2-4 in the game while
Nick Hagler,
Jarrod Tanner, and
Seth Lucas each added one hit. In the second game,
Randy Burden pitched a near no-hitter after giving up just one hit in 8 innings of play. Burden struck out 11 in the 5-2 win. Mike Harris pitched the last inning to ice the game.
Clint Sanders was 2-5 with a double while
Kenny Bragg continued his hot streak with 2 hits and 2 RBI. The Braves travel to Salisbury, MD to play Salisbury University tomorrow afternoon.
