PETERSBURG, V.A. – The Chowan University men's golf team concluded play at the Saint Leo - Griffin Invitational in Petersburg, Virginia on Tuesday afternoon. The Hawks finished in 9th place out of 14 competing teams. Newcomer Gabriel Ansley led all Chowan golfers with low rounds of 74, 73, and 73 to finish 20th in the field of 87.
INSIDE THE SCORE CARDS
Mika Buchholtz finished up in 23rd place after firing off rounds of 74, 72, and 75. Buchholtz carded nine birdies in the three-round tournament. Playing as an individual, freshman Chance Lassiter fired off a low round of 71 on day two, carding three birdies. Lassiter finished up 44th in the field after three rounds. Jacob Kearney placed 47th , carding six birdies with final rounds of 78, 74, and 75. Adam Lankford finished 50th in the field , and consistently cut strokes off each round with a day one 78, day two 76, and a day three 74. Bryce Koehler rounded out the team scoring, finishing in 72nd place and collected rounds of 77, 81, and 77. Bjoern Holt played as an individual, shooting rounds of 73, 79, and 78 to finish 55th overall. Justin Peterson rounded out the individual play. Peterson carded seven birdies over three rounds, scoring a 77, 77, and an 85 to round out play.

Chowan will hit the road for their next match as they will play in the annual Don Scalf Golf Tournament in Rocky Mount, North Carolina. The two-round tournament will be at Belmont Lake Country Club.
