Belolipetskii Earns Swimmer Of The Year As Hawks Wrap-Up Championships

KINGSPORT, TENN. – The Chowan Men's and Women's Swimming program wrapped up a successful 2023-24 season closing out the Conference Carolinas Swimming Championships with two event championships.

INSIDE THE LANES

Aleksei Belolipetskii earned Conference Carolinas Swimmer of the Year honors after picking up seven all-conference selections, along with a Conference Carolinas Championship event record, with two individual championships and one relay championship.

Finals:

200 Back:

Senan Noonan finished fourth overall with a school record time of 1:51.62.  Christian Oleaga finished 12th overall with a time of 2:05.73.

Erica Mock finished seventh overall with a time of 2:11.74.

100 Free:

Chowan went 1-2 in the event with Robert Liz Cabrera and Aleksei Belolipetskii posted NCAA "B" standard times separated by .02.  Liz Cabrera posted a school record time of 45.20 with Belolipetskii posted a time of 45.22.

Jose Medina finished with a personal-best time of 48.60.

Aislinn Kessinger finished sixth overall with a career-best time of 53.48.  Ashley Mayes finished eighth with a time of 54.34.  Lina Danna posted a time of 56.98 to finish 15th overall.

200 Breast:

Hiba Laknit finished with a career-best time of 2:27.32 to finish sixth overall.

200 Fly:

Dimitrije Markovic finished fifth overall with a school-record time of 1:55.68.

400 Free Relay:

Dimitrije Markovic, Aleksei Belolipetskii, Senan Noonan, and Robert Liz Cabrera swam the Hawks to an event championship with a school record time of 3:01.58.

Ashley Mayes, Lina Danna, Erica Mock, and Aislinn Kessinger posted a fifth-place finish in the event with a time of 3:40.81.

Prelims:

200 Back:

Erica Mock qualified for the finals with a time of 2:12.05.  Senan Noonan qualified with a time of 1:55.48.  Christian Oleaga qualified with a time of 2:06.08.

100 Free:

Aislinn Kessinger (53.76, career-best), Ashley Mayes (54.00), and Lina Danna (56.72) qualified for the finals.

Olivia Mock (1:06.52) and Elizabeth Waltz (1:12.00) posted career-best times.

Robert Liz Cabrera qualified second overall with a school record time of 45.72.  Aleksei Belolipetskii qualified with a time of 46.52.  Jose Medina qualified with a time of 49.67.

Tyler Krom (51.58) and Brayden Conboy (57.98) swam for the Hawks.

200 Breast:

Hiba Laknit qualified eighth overall with a time of 2:29.53.

200 Fly:

Dimitrije Markovic qualified with a time of 1:58.38.
