KINGSPORT, T.N. - Day two of the Conference Carolinas Championships saw two Hawks garner individual podium level performances and two Hawks turn in personal bests. Aleksei Belolipetskii touched the wall just off of 1st place in his signature event, the 200 IM, to grab the silver medal. Teammate Dimitrije Markovic turned in a 3rd place finish in the 500 freestyle to reach the podium for the third time in his three-year career. Belolipetskii is a three-time Conference Champion in the 200 IM and current Conference Carolinas record holder in the event. He stepped up to the podium for the final time in the event, and will go away as the most decorated swimmer in program history after taking 2nd in the event.
The men's 200 freestyle relay team posted a 3rd place finish, marking the program's fourth podium appearance by any 200 freestyle relay team. Robert Liz Cabrera, Aleksei Belolipetskii, Stefan Reedy, and Dimitrije Markovic swam to a 3rd place finish to grab the 3rd place finish to close out competition for the day.
Vanja Romic turned in a personal best time of 2:11.38 in the 200 IM en route to a 7th place overall finish while Quintin Mitchell posted a personal best in the 50 free with a time of 22.79.

The prelim sessions on Friday morning set the stage for the finals in the same events. Top finishers from each of the event heats will move on the final sessions. The prelims on Friday will begin at 10:00am and feature the 400 individual medley, the 100 butterfly, the 200 freestyle, and 100 backstroke, and the 100 backstroke.
