KINGSPORT, TENN. – Four Hawks earned All-Conference selections on the final day of the 2020-21 Conference Carolinas Swimming Championships on Saturday.

INSIDE THE LANES
Ashley Mayes and Lucas Pels earned Second Team All-Conference honors in the 200 Fly and 200 Breast respectively. Zorey Sargent and Jersey Razzano picked up Third Team All-Conference in the 200 Breast and 1650 Free.
HOW IT HAPPENED
200 Back:
Andrew Simmons improved his school record time in the event with a time of 2:07.34 to finish 11th overall.
100 Free:
Grace Arredondo finished 10th overall with a time of 55.78. Jasmine Gibson posted a time of 56.95 to finish 15th.
James Cameron finished 14th overall with time of 48.98 after posting a time of 48.48 in the prelims for the third best time in program history. Justin Lough notched the fourth best time in program history with a time of 49.09 to finish 15th overall.
200 Breast:
Lucas Pels earned Second Team All-Conference honors after shattering his school record in the prelims (2:08.83) and again in the finals with a time of 2:07.02.
Zorey Sargent earned Third Team All-Conference honors after finishing third overall with a time of 2:31.97. Erin Garza finished ninth with a time of 2:41.62. MacKenzie Lucy (12th) and Anquniece Wheeler (15th) earned points for the Hawks.
Marshall Stevens was just off his personal best time finishing 11th overall with a time of 2:15.90. Kyle Sheridan earned a point for the Hawks in 16th.
200 Fly:
Ashley Mayes continued her strong performance after breaking the school record twice in the event on her way to a Second Team All-Conference selection. Mayes finished with a time of 2:07.85. Marissa Mann finished ninth with a time of 2:34.65.
400 Free Relay:
Justin Lough, David Clark, James Cameron, and Lucas Pels narrowly missed the school record after finishing sixth with a time of 3:13.84.
Grace Arredondo, Jasmine Gibson, Jersey Razzano, and Ashley Mayes swam to a fifth place finish in the event with a time of 3:42.95.
1650 Free:
Jersey Razzano earned a Third Team All-Conference selection with a school record time of 18:25.23.
Igor Proszynski picked up a sixth place finish with a time of 17:00.62.
CHAMPIONSHIPS RECAP
Chowan recorded seven All-Conference selections with six individual honors. Ashley Mayes and Jersey Razzano recorded three selections each with two individual honors and a relay selection. Mayes became the fourth Conference Champion for the Hawks and first in the 100 Fly.
Lucas Pels tallied the lone all-conference selection for the men.

The men tallied 10 program top-10 times including three school records. The women posted eight program top-10 times with five school records.
