CU Tennis Back in Action on the Road

MURFREESBORO, N.C. – The Chowan Men's and Women's Tennis teams hit the road for Florence, S.C. to face USC Aiken and Francis Marion in non-conference play before making their ninth appearance in the Spring TennisFest in Hilton Head, S.C. on March 12-14.

HAWKS HIGHLIGHTS
Women's Tennis
Chowan will match up against USC Aiken and Francis Marion on March 9-10 in non-conference action before competing against three teams throughout the week in the Spring TennisFest.

The Hawks enter the contest with a 0-3 overall record after falling to Belmont Abbey 2-5 earlier this month.

Cynthia Carrier will pace the Hawks at the No.1 singles position with a 1-2 overall record while teammate, Arina Karbolina will gear up for the No.2 singles position for the Blue and White.

Freshman, Julieta Lecce post a 1-1 record this season at the No.3 singles, while, Angelique Gouin and Claire Revelle will compete at the fourth and fifth singles positions respectively.

PACERS AND PATRIOTS
USC Aiken comes into the contest with an 8-0 record on the season after defeating Augusta 4-3 on Wednesday.

The Hawks will then take on Francis Marion who post a 7-3 overall record after the Patriots slipped to Queens University of Charlotte 6-1.

Monday, March 11:        vs. Indiana (Pa.) 2:00pm

Tuesday, March 12:       vs. Uni. of Illinois, Springfield 11:30am

Thursday, March 14:      vs. Uni. of Missouri-St. Louis 8:30-am

Men's Tennis
The Hawks currently post a 1-3 overall record and 1-1 in Conference Carolinas.

Leading doubles play is, Mariano Yeh and Edmond Aynedjian who post a 2-2 record at the No. 1 doubles for Chowan.

Mariano Yeh will face his opponent at the No.1 singles match for the Blue and White while teammate, Edmond Aynedjian will compete at the No.2 singles.

Seniors, Adi Kaliakperov and Louis Proulx will take on the third and fourth singles respectively, while Rafael D'Atri will work to defend the No.5 singles match for the Hawks.

PACERS AND PATRIOTS
The Pacers post a 7-0 clean season record after grabbing the 5-2 victory over Augusta on Wednesday afternoon.

Chowan and Francis Marion will match up on Sunday, March 10th. The Patriots come into the contest with a 6-3 overall record.
