SUMTER, S.C. – The Chowan University men's tennis team opened play in the Conference Carolinas Men's Tennis Championship, competing as the #8 seed against #5 seed Emmanuel College. The Hawks secured the #3 doubles win, but ultimately fell to the Lions, 4-0, to close out the season.

In doubles play, Thales Sette and Tadeo Sanchez picked up a strong 6-4 victory at the #3 position to highlight the Hawks' effort. Marcel Ungerboeck and Tadeo Missan dropped a tight 6-4 decision at #1 doubles, while Terumasa Inoue and David De Simon fell 6-3 in the #2 spot.
Ungerboeck led the Hawks in singles at the #1 position, followed by Sette at #2 and De Simon at #3. Inoue competed at #4, Missan at #5, and Sanchez at #6. Singles matches at positions #2 through #6 went incomplete as Emmanuel clinched the match.
With the result, the Hawks conclude their season at the conference championship with a final overall record of 8-10 and (5-6) in conference play.
