HOW IT HAPPENED
Wyatt Beakler pitched a solid three innings of scoreless ball before giving up a two-run shot to Limestone's Alex Cornell in the 4th inning. Bleaker gave up three homeruns and five runs in the 5th before being relieved by
Robert Burns. Cornell tagged another homerun in the 5th to give the Saints an 8-0 lead through five innings of play.
The Hawks got on the board in the bottom of the 6th inning when Lanier crossed the plate on a Trevena single down the left field line.
Limestone scored nine runs in their final two at-bats to take the win 17-1. The Saints tallied 16 team hits while holding the Hawks to nine team hits. Beakler (2-2) picked up the loss on the mound after throwing 4.1 innings. Payton McPherson pitched the win for Limestone, scattering seven hits and striking out nine batters.
