MURFREESBORO, N.C. - The Chowan University baseball team hosted Belmont Abbey College for the final game of the series on Senior Day, marking the Hawks' last contest of the regular season. Seniors Gabriel Espiritu, Colin Gifford, Ahmaad Goldson, Cody Ives, Nicholas Nichols, Nick Reiss, Derrick Wade, Jacob Walker, Dawson Wiggins, and Zackary Wilson were honored prior to the start of the game, while Matthew Lovitt was recognized between Saturday's doubleheader.
Chowan tallied three hits and two runs in the contest, highlighted by a towering solo home run from Goldson to center field and a triple up the middle by Wade.

The Hawks got on the board in the second inning when Derrick Davis reached on a throwing error, allowing Ethan Robinson to score while Nichols advanced to third. Reiss added a single up the middle in the third inning to keep the momentum going.
Goldson provided the offensive highlight in the sixth inning, launching a solo home run to center field for Chowan's second run of the day. Wade later added a triple up the middle in the seventh to round out the Hawks' hits.
On the mound, Wilson earned the start, tossing two innings before handing the ball to Ives. Landon Tyndall provided 3.2 innings of relief, while Wiggins closed out the final two innings for the Hawks.
