MURFREESBORO, N.C. – The Chowan Baseball team resumes Conference Carolinas play against Limestone on Friday for a three-game league series.

HAWKS HIGHLIGHTS

Chowan dropped to 7-6-1 on the season after falling to regionally-ranked Francis Marion during the midweek in a two-game series.  The Hawks are 3-2 in league play.

Reigning Conference Carolinas Player of the Week, Marquise Lanier, leads the team with a .451 batting average recording 23 hits, nine doubles, and three home runs to go with 14 RBI.

Nick Rose is batting .313 this season with five doubles and one home run with 15 RBI.

Josh Vincent and Wyatt Beakler lead the team with a 2-1 record on the hill.  Vincent has a 2.16 ERA.  Vinny Puma and Robert Burns have been solid out of the pen with a 1.13 and 0.00 ERA in relief.

STOPPING THE SAINTS

Limestone is 5-13 on the season and 2-4 in the Conference Carolinas.  The Saints have won their last two contests but are 1-6 on the road this season.

Matt Hilderbrandt and Chase Allen lead the team with a .278 and .274 batting average respectively.  Allen has four doubles and four home runs to go with a team-leading 11 RBI.

The Saints allow 7.15 runs per contest while scoring 3.62 runs.
