HAWKS HIGHLIGHTS
Chowan moved to 11-12-1 on the season and 7-7 in Conference Carolinas action after taking two of three from #17 Mount Olive last weekend. The Hawks sit fourth in the league standings.
Marquise Lanier, NCBWA National Hitter of the Week, upped his average to a team-leading .446 with 12 doubles, 11 home runs, and 33 RBI. Nick Rose is hitting .319 on the season with 30 hits, 10 doubles, and 20 RBI. Jack Kane and Brock Cross are hitting .311 and .301 respectively.
On the mound, Josh Vincent leads the squad with a 3-1 record and 31 strikeouts. Vinny Puma is 2-0 with a 1.83 ERA in relief this season.
GROUNDING THE FLYING FLEET
Erskine enters with a 16-16 overall record and a 6-7 mark in Conference Carolinas play. The Flying Fleet is sixth in the league.
Drew Yniesta leads the Fleet with a .381 batting average with 10 doubles, and 32 RBI. Cory Everett is hitting .371 with nine home runs and 22 RBI. Erskine is hitting .296 as a team, third best in the league.
Zack Bowers is 2-1 on the hill this season with a 2.96 ERA. Zach Farmer is 3-1 with a 4.03 ERA in 15 relief appearances.
