HAWKS HIGHLIGHTS
Chowan improved to 4-2-1 following the series against Clarion on February 9-10. This is the first Conference Carolinas series for the Hawks after their stint in the CIAA in 2017.
Marquise Lanier leads the team at the plate with a .455 batting average. Lanier has 10 hits including five doubles and two home runs to go with seven RBI. Nick Rose also tallied seven RBI on the season.
Josh Vincent is 2-0 on the season with a 1.50 ERA in 12.0 innings pitched. Vinny Puma has been solid out of the pen with a 2.25 ERA in three appearances.
TORNADO ALERT
King is 4-5 on the early season splitting the single game contests against Milligan (11-4) on Monday before picking up the win against Lincoln Memorial (8-3) on Tuesday.
Hunter Barbour is leading the team with a .414 average with five doubles and 10 RBI. Tony Valdes is hitting .345 with three home runs and seven RBI.
Ashton King leads the pitching staff with a 0.77 ERA in 11.2 innings. King has struck out 16 out of the pen. Ethan Jenkins is 0-1 on the season in his team-leading three starts with an 8.44 ERA in 5.1 innings pitched.
