MURFREESBORO, N.C.-The Chowan Men's and Women's Swimming programs are set to host their first home meet of the 2019-20 season. The Hawks welcome Division I Howard University to the Bynum Brown Aquatics Center on Saturday, October 19.

HAWKS PROFILE
Chowan returns to the pool from recently competing against Conference Carolinas opponents Barton and Lees-McRae on October 11. The women currently sit a 1-1 on the season while the men post a 0-2 overall record.

For the men, Igor Proszynski earned second place in the 1000 Free with a 10:05.00 to set a new school record for the Blue and White.

Julia Stegmaier won the 50 Free with a 32.44 time, before she took home the win in the 200 Breast after clocking a time of 2:32.13 for the Hawks.

The Hawks took third place in the 400 Free Relay with Jasmine Gibson, Atar Idrissi, Grace Arredondo, and Julia Stegmaier who swam a 3:51.41.

On the men's side, James Cameron, Justin Lough, David Clark, and Igor Proszynski touched the wall in 3:23.92 for fourth place in the 400 Free Relay.

ABOUT THE BISONS
Howard's Men's and Women's teams both currently sit 1-0 on the season after picking up a victory over Virginia Military Institute in early October. The men won 167.5-126.5, while the women posted a 204-77 win on the day.

The Hawks and Bisons last met in Fall 2018 on the road with Howard taking home the meet victory.
