HAWKS HIGHLIGHTS
Chowan finished off the 2018 season with a 21-18-1 overall record as an independent. The Hawks enter their first season within Conference Carolinas with a bunch of talent returning to go with several newcomers.
Nick Rose returns as the leading hitter from last season with a .346 batting average, 44 hits and 35 RBI. Tyler Jones hit .300 last season to solidify third base.
Josh Vincent, preseason Southeast Regional player to watch, went 6-2 on the bump. Vinny Puma will look to continue his trend this season after a 3-1 record in 17 appearances and 37 strikeouts.
Chowan will look to Daniel Whitener on the hill and newcomer Jared Fry behind the plate.
COBRA BYTES
Coker finished with an 18-25 overall record last season. The Cobras split the two-game series with the Hawks last season while finishing with a 4-15 record on the road.
Reilly Hall returns for the Cobras after hitting .309 in his freshman season. Larry McCabe hit .305 at the plate with a team-high four home runs.
