Hawks Swim to a Victory on Senior Night

MURFREESBORO, N.C. – The Chowan Men's and Women's Swimming team wrapped up their regular season competition at home with a victory over UNC Pembroke and William Peace.

INSIDE THE LANES
 
400 Medley Relay
For the Women:
Chowan took home the win with a relay time of 4:59.60. Taylor Bitting, AnnMarie Spiker, Marissa Mann, and Erin Garza consisted of the relay for the Hawks.
  
800 Free
For the Women:
Keitra Lloyd finished second in the event with a time of 10:47.45. Teammate Anquience Wheeler placed third after posting a time of 10:52.80.
 
For the Men:
Donald Bowman clocked a time of 9:46.04 to win the event for the Blue and White.
 
200 Free
For the Women:
Jasmine Gibson won the event with a time of 2:23.97 for the Hawks. Marissa Mann and Taylor Bitting placed third and fifth respectively.

For the Men:
Shaine Olmstead posted a 2:04.17 event time to secure first place, while Lucas Pels and Jordan Walker placed second and fourth overall.
 
50 Free
For the Women:
Senior, SheAyre Bowles took home the title with a 29.39 event time for the Hawks. Jeleah Delancy recorded a 31.17 to finish in fourth overall.

For the Men:
The Hawks took home the top three spots. James Cameron secured first place after he touched the wall in 25.56. Justin Lough finished right behind with a time or 26.19 while, Joshua Weidner swam the event in 26.61 for third.
 
200 IM
For the Women:
AnnMarie Spiker grabbed the top spot for Chowan with a time of 2:40.42 Teammates, Erin Garza and Sarah Hull placed second and fourth place respectfully.

For the Men:
Trace Austin secured the win with a time of 2:24.26 while, Kyle Sheridan posted a 2:40.11 for second.
 
100 Fly
For the Women:
The Hawks took home second and fourth place finishes with Marissa Mann and SheAyre Bowles Mann finished with a time of 1:17.21, while Bowles touched in 1:17.28.

For the Men:
Taylor Woodard and Trace Austin pushed each other to the finish for the first and second place. Woodard clocked a time of 1:02.77 while Austin posted a 1:02.92 for Chowan. Donald Bowman also competed for Chowan taking home third with a time of 1:04.45.
 
1000 Free
For the Women:
Chowan picked up two of the top five times in the event. Jasmine Gibson touched at 1:05.99 for a first place finish, while Jeleah Delancy posted a 1:12.79 for third overall.

For the Men:
The Hawks took home first, second and fourth place in the event. Justin Lough touched at 56.89 while, Joshua Weidner and Jordan Walker posted a 58.94 and 1:02.01 respectfully.

For the Women:
Taylor Bitting grabbed a fourth place finish for the Hawks with a time of 1:18.91.

For the Men:
James Cameron posted a 1:06.90 time for the overall win.
 
400 Free
Anquniece Wheeler won the event after she touched the wall in 5:17.27 for the Blue and White. Keitra Lloyd placed second while Sarah Hull took home fourth overall.

For the Men:
Shaine Olmstead posted a 4:29.37 to take home first place finish. Kyle Sheridan also competed for the Blue and White for second place.
 
100 Breast
For the Women:
Senior, AnnMarie Spiker took the top spot with a time of 1:19.39. Erin Garza and Jeleah Delancy placed third and fourth respectively.

For the Men:
Lucas Pels secured first place for the Hawks with a time of 1:10.45. Not far behind was teammate, Taylor Woodard who posted a 1:17.93 for third.
 
400 Free Relay
For the Women:
Chowan claimed first place in the relay with a time of 4:27.99. Anquience Wheeler, Jasmine Gibson, Keitra Lloyd and SheAyre Bowles competed for the Hawks.

For the Men:
The men took first overall with Shaine Olmstead, Jordan Walker, Trace Austin and James Cameron swimming a time of 3:56.66.
 
UP NEXT
The Hawks will gear up for the Conference Carolinas Championships on Feb 6-9 when they travel to Charlotte, N.C.
