Chowan split with the Trojans on Sunday afternoon falling in a comeback attempt in the first contest and picking up the 10-4 win in the nightcap to move to 14-15-1 on the season.
Harry Markotay leads the team with a .410 batting average and has a 14 game hitting streak. Markotay also leads the team with 48 hits and 29 RBI. Nick Rose and Robert Williams are second on the squad with a .347 and .344 batting average respectively. Marquise Lanier and Julian Lopez rounds out the .300+ batting averages at .313 and .321 respectively.
TROJAN NOTES
Virginia State is 16-10-1 on the season after the split with the Hawks. The Trojans are 2-3 in their last five games.
Aaron Harris leads the team with a .435 batting average. Justin Nase is second on the club hitting at a .392 clip.
Gerald Taylor leads the pitching staff with a 5-2 record and 5.40 ERA.
