The Hawks will kick off the 2018 Conference Carolinas Men's Tennis Championship on Friday, April 20 in the quarterfinals against the No. 6 seeded King (Tenn.).
The semifinals and championship match of the Conference Carolinas will be Saturday and Sunday, April 21-22 respectively.
HAWKS HIGHLIGHTS
Chowan finished the regular season as the No. 3 seed with a 12-7 overall record and posted an 8-2 mark in Conference Carolinas in their first season of competition. The Hawks are on a five match win streak.
Ghassan Alansi, ranked No. 70 in the country, leads the team with a 15-4 record in singles action including an 8-2 record against Conference Carolinas opponents. Adi Kaliakperov has posted a 14-4 mark this season in singles action.
THEIR OPPONENT
King comes into the Conference Carolinas Men's Tennis Championship with a 6-12 overall record and 5-5 mark in the league.
Chowan and King battled to a 5-4 decision in favor of the Hawks on April 8 in Bristol, Tenn. Chowan would take two of the three doubles to start the match. Ghassan Alansi, Louis Proulx, and Rafael Goncalves picked up singles victories to secure the win.
