HAWKS HIGHLIGHTS
Chowan split their season opening doubleheader on the road against Coker last week. The Hawks suffered a 3-0 loss before rebounding with a 15-4 victory in the second game of the series.
Harry Markotay and Tyler Jones lead the team with a .429 batting average. Markotay posted five RBI in the opening series.
Josh Vincent secured the win for the Hawks tossing four innings picking up seven strikeouts.
EAGLE EVENTS
Lock Haven comes to Murfreesboro for their season opening contests. The Eagles finished the 2017 season at 32-18 and fell in the PSAC quarterfinals.
The Eagles open the season ranked eighth in the NCBWA Atlantic Regional poll.
SERIES IN REVIEW
Chowan and Lock Haven are tied in the overall series at 4-4. The Hawks and Eagles have split their four game series each of the past two seasons. Chowan won the last contest 14-8 on February 26, 2017.
