Box Score AIKEN, SC - The Chowan University baseball dropped a 14-0 decision to USC-Aiken on Friday night. The Hawks, fresh off of a doubleheader sweep of Winston-Salem State University, committed four errors and were held to seven hits in the game. Friday's game is the first of the two-game series. Chowan fell to 24-22 on the year after the win. USC-Aiken, currently ranked #19 in the nation, improved to 35-11 after game one of the series.
Chowan's
Will Edwards pitched the loss after throwing 3.2 innings. Edwards gave up 11 runs on 10 hits in the outing.
Daniel Whitener and
Aaron Akers each pitched in relief of Edwards.
Marvin Harrell Jr. and
Zack Cooper collected two hits each in the loss.
The two teams will hit the field again on Saturday with a 2:00pm start time in Aiken, South Carolina.
