Box Score PEMBROKE, NC - The Chowan University baseball team fell to 8-12 on the year after suffering an 18-1 loss to UNC-Pembroke on Wednesday afternoon. After tallying a season-high 17 hits in Tuesday's game, the Hawks were held to six hits as a team in Wednesday's loss. The Braves improve their season record to 15-5 at the completion of the two-game series.
UNC-Pembroke exploded for 15 runs in their first three at-bats to gain control of the game early on. Leading the way offensively for Chowan was
Robert Williams. The newcomer went 3-3 and accounted for the teams lone run with a solo shot in the top of the 5th inning.
Tre Harper (1-2) was credited with the loss after throwing 1.1 innings. He gave up 10 runs but only three were earned after several miscues on the Hawks' defense.
Matt Kaplan pitched in relief of Harper. He gave up four earned runs in 1.2 innings of work.

Harry Markotay ended the game 1-2 at the plate. Jones tallied a hit in one at-bat.
Chowan will return to Hawkins Field for a weekend series with Mansfield University. The two teams will play a three game series, set to start March 11th at 12:00pm. Sunday's game will start at 1:00pm.
