HILTON HEAD-The Chowan University men's tennis team fell 6-3 in a make-up match to Palm Beach Atlantic University on Wednesday afternoon in non-conference play. The Hawks slipped to 4-5 with the setback. With the victory, the Sailfish improved to 5-2 on the year.

In doubles play, Farid Hajizada and Adi Kaliakperov fell to Rafael Lenz and Bernardo Ferreira 8-4 in the number one doubles match. Palm Beach grabbed the number two doubles match with Pato Zarazua and Pietro de Silva beating Mateusz Izycki and Mariano Yeh 9-8 (1). Chowan's Louis Proulx and Rafael Goncalves picked up the number three doubles win 8-6 over Philipp Hoffmann and Thomas Salmon.

Heading into singles competition, Kaliakperov fell to Zarazua 6-4, 6-4, in the number one singles match, while Hajizada won the number two singles play over Lenz 5-7, 6-3, (10-4). The Sailfish won the number three singles match with Hoffman defeating Izycki 6-3, 6-4.  In the number four singles match Ferreira beat Yeh 7-5, 4-6, (10-7). In the number five singles match Goncalves grabbed the win for Chowan over De Silva 6-1, 6-3. Palm Beach secured the 6-3 victory in the number sixth singles play when Proulx lost to Salmon 6-3, 6-2.

The Hawks will continue play at the Spring Tennisfest as they take on Michigan Technological University on Thursday, March 8^th.
