Box Score MURFREESBORO, NC – The Chowan University baseball team dropped a 6-1 decision to Francis Marion University in midweek nonconference baseball action on Wednesday. The Patriots pounded out 15 hits and held the Hawks to eight hits on the day to pick up their 22
nd win of the season. With the loss, Chowan fell to 12-19 on the year.

Will Edwards got the nod on the mound in search of his first win of the season. Francis Marion struck early in the game, posting two runs in their first at-bat. Cole Hinnant drove a pitch to right center for a double and later scored on a single by Zack Haralambis. Brooks Kennedy plated William Robins with a single to give the Patriots an early 2-0 lead.
Garrett Wilson opened the game on the mound. He tossed one inning and gave up one hit for the win as the pitcher of record when his team gained the lead.

th on a Marvin Harrell single
The Patriots scored single runs in the fourth, fifth, eighth, and ninth innings to take the 6-1 win. Edwards picked up the loss on the mound for Chowan after throwing 4.0 innings and giving up three runs.

Vinny Puma, and
Tre Harper each pitched in relief of Edwards. All three gave up a hit and a run.
Kyle Cross garnered the Hawks lone multiple hit game after going 2-3 with a double. Harrell went 1-3 with a run batted in.
Hawks will get back to CIAA action this weekend with a four-game series at Saint Augustine's University April 1
