MURFREESBORO, NC – The Chowan University men's tennis team handed Salem International University a 9-0 loss on Friday afternoon. The Hawks improve to a 10-6 overall record on the season with the win while the Tigers slip to 1-12.

For the Hawks, doubles pairs Farid Hajizada/Adi Kaliakperov, Mateusz Izycki/Mariano Yeh and Rafael Goncalves/Louis Proulx were able to take all three doubles matches with scores of 8-1, 8-0 and 8-0, respectively.

With the 3-0 lead heading into singles, Chowan then swept each of the six singles positions in straight sets to secure the 9-0 win.

The Hawks return to action on March 19th when they host the CIAA Cross Divisional Division Round Up at the Rose Family Tennis Complex.  Chowan is scheduled to play a doubleheader against Shaw University at 9:00am and 1:00pm on Saturday.
