HILTON HEAD, SC- The Chowan University men's tennis team dropped a 9-0 decision to Palm Beach Atlantic University on Monday morning. The Hawks slip to 3-5 on the season with the setback while the Sailfish improve to 5-3 with the victory.
In doubles play,
Danilo Galovic and
Ivan Doubograev fell to Romain Nowaczyk and Nicolas Uryson 8-3 at the number one position.
Farid Hajizada and
Sasha Kirsanov also dropped an 8-3 decision to their opponents in the number two position while
Tristan Martin and
Rafael Goncalves were defeated 8-2 in the number three position.
In singles play, Roman Nowaczyk toppled Hajizada 6-3, 6-0 in the number one position while Nicolas Uryson topped Goncalves 6-1, 6-1 in the number two spot. Martin suffered a 6-2, 6-3 setback in the number three position and Doubograev fell to Asti Adams 6-2, 6-1 in the fourth position.
Enrique Barge took a 6-4, 6-2 loss in the fifth position while
Carlos Ramirez was defeated 6-0, 6-2 in the sixth position.
The Hawks return to action on Tuesday when they take on Newberry. First serve is slated for 9:00am.
