Box Score AIKEN, SC- The Chowan University baseball team suffered an 18-5 loss to USC-Aiken on Wednesday afternoon. The Hawks move to 8-9 on the year with the loss while the Pacers advance to 16-6.
USC –Aiken pounded out 18 hits over the course of the nine inning game. Kody Belcher, Matt Bosse and Zach Moon all had three hits in the win with Moon tallying four RBI.

Tanner Woods each tallied two hits for the Chowan Blue and White with Woods knocking in four RBI.
Chowan scored three runs in the opening frame behind Woods' three-run homerun. The Pacers answered with two run in the bottom half of the frame before exploding for nine runs in the bottom of the second, highlighted by Moon's grand slam. Trailing 11-3, Flanagan's leadoff homerun in the top of the fourth gave the Hawks some offensive spark but USC-Aiken outscored Chowan 7-1 in the remainder of the contest to earn the 18-5 victory.
Ben Black threw five innings for USC-Aiken in the victory. He surrendered four runs (all earned) while scattering six hits and striking out eight batters. Jared Felix, Joe Marlow, Hunter Hubba and Sam Daniel each entered the contest in-relief.
Will Edwards took the loss on the mound for the Hawks. He threw one inning in the loss, surrendering eight hits and eight runs (seven earned).

Chowan returns to action on March 14
th and 15
th when the Hawks host Winston-Salem State University in a CIAA four game series. First pitch is slated for 12:00pm on Saturday and Sunday.
