Box Score MURFREESBORO- The Chowan University volleyball team earned their fifth straight win on Friday evening with a 3-0 victory over Johnson and Wales University.  The Hawks improve to 7-3 with the win while the Wildcats slip to 6-11 on the year. 

Suraya Chase paced the Hawks with 12 kills on the season followed by Melanie Chaussee with nine kills.  Allison Smith collected 35 assists in the win while Cindy Ehrich hauled in 24 digs.  Chowan held the Wildcats to 14 kills in the contest.  Reanna Bray collected a team-high four kills while Hailey Thrift and Lucy Hermann notched three kills apiece. 

Chowan won the first two sets with identical 25-13 scores and toppled the Wildcats 25-5 in the third set.  The Hawks never trailed in the contest and committed a total of seven team errors over the course of the evening. 

Chowan travels to Bowie State University on Sunday and to The Lincoln University on Monday for back-to-back CIAA Northern Division contests.    Live coverage for both contests can be accessed HERE.
