Diana Rodriguez has been named to the D2CCA All-Southeast Region First Team, adding another major honor to her accomplished career as a Hawk.
Rodriguez delivered a standout 2025 season, anchoring the Hawks' defense with 563 digs and an impressive 5.80 digs per set, ranking her fifth in the nation among NCAA Division II players. She started all 28 matches and appeared in all 97 sets this season, contributing across the board with 91 assists, 25 service aces, and 696 receptions.
Her dominance earned her multiple major accolades, including Conference Carolinas Defensive Player of the Year, First Team All-Conference, and Conference Carolinas Specialist of the Week. This season also saw Rodriguez break Chowan's all-time digs record, reaching 2,036 career digs—a milestone achieved across 108 career matches and 382 total sets.
Rodriguez's career success began early during her first season as a Hawk as she earned Conference Carolinas Freshman of the Year in 2022 and surpassed 1,000 career digs by the end of her sophomore season in 2023—an accomplishment that foreshadowed her rise as one of the region's elite liberos.
Her selection to the D2CCA All-Southeast Region First Team is a testament to a career highlighted by record-breaking accomplishments and consistent national-level defensive performance.
