Box Score MURFREESBORO – The Chowan University volleyball team took just under an hour to drop Saint Augustine's University in straight sets. The Hawks tallied 39 team kills in the win, their first CIAA win of the 2014 season. The win evened the Hawks overall record at 3-3. Saint Augustine's remains winless on the year at 0-5 and 0-1 in league play.

The Hawks spread the offense out with seven different players getting kills. Nikira Fults and Melanie Chaussee paced the team with nine kills each while teammate Brianna Smith tallied eight kills. Both Suraya Chase and Brittany Tschida each had five kills in the match. Allison Smith set up 32 assists while Cindy Ehrich had a team-high 10 digs.

Chowan took the lead early in the match and never lost momentum. They won with final set scores of 25-11, 25-15, and 25-17. Saint Augustine's tallied 18 team kills led by Olivia Porter who had seven on the day. Meghan Mahone had 15 digs to lead the Lady Falcons on the back line.
